Thank You to Kathy H.!

Since I set up my Etsy store, my dear friend, Kathy over at 'Mania, made me a logo for my store. This was so sweet of her! She even made it look camoflage. It looks good.

Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!!

June 28th

I finally broke down and opened an Etsy store. I hope I can sell a few things on it. I just am not comfortable selling on eBay yet. Please check it out here: http://crochets247.etsy.com/

We have been making a lot of smoothies lately. I brought home cherries from my folks' house yesterday. My son made up some cherry smoothies, however, he forgot to remove the pits! He was really disappointed when he had to start all over with something else. He didn't want to remove the pits to make a new batch. At least the blender is a good one. It ground them up into nothing without breaking the blender.

We're planning a big picnic on Saturday for our youngest son's 13th birthday. He wanted a swimming party so we're going to a park on the river and hopefully a couple of folks will bring their boats. It should be fun. My sister is going to decorated the cake. He wants a deer or an elk on it, so we'll see what she comes up with. She's quite creative when it comes to cakes.

Bright Baby Afghan

Here's an afghan I just finished up today. I really love the colors and as some of you know, I love hot air balloons too.

Please click on my map on the side panel and let me know where you are.

Yard Saling

My son and I went yard saling with Mom and my sister yesterday. We had a lot of fun and saw several people we knew. That's half the fun, getting to see folks you only see occasionally. I got a large box of yarn, a bag of small skeins of yarn, some stuffing and a lot of little things. The yarn is in colors that I use quite often. My son got a whole collection of giraffes. He has always liked them. We managed to fill up Mom's car pretty well. They even found microwave for my nephew and niece. Their's died last week.

Today is Father's Day. Hubby just wants to rest, I think. He's been working a lot and just wants some down time.

Uncle Sam Pillow

The 4th of July is just around the corner. Here's a pillow I made last year just for this holiday.

My Grandma's Work

About a year ago, I came across some negatives in one of my grandmother's crochet things. I had to go to a specialty camera shop to get them printed. My mom gave me all of her things after grandma passed and I took up crochet when I was about 19 or so. Grandma really preferred to work with thread, but made a few other things with yarn too. (She passed away when I was only 12, before I started crocheting.)

She lived in a nursing home and my mom used to do her shopping and take a lot of things to the fair for her every summer. These pictures show one year's worth of fair items. The peacock was a big seller. I think I have the pattern in her handwriting. I'm just not sure until I try to make one what order the pages go.

Mystery Box - On it's way to Texas

I got the box sealed up and mailed to Lisa in Texas. I also mailed off 2 squares for my Square of the Month Swap at Mania. I hope you 2 Maniacs like them!

It has stopped raining for a few days and now the wind is blowing (of course). I'm planning on going yard saling with Mom tomorrow. It'll be my first yard sale day of the summer. Mom has been going for quite a while now. I'm really looking forward to it.

Mystery Box

We have a Mystery Box going around for the Crochet Maniacs. I received it today. I have 48 hours to pick out things and replace each item and send it on it's way to the next Maniac. This was a fun idea. I'm sure that it'll have a lot of different items in it once it makes it's way back home. I'll show what I picked after I mail it.

June 11th

Well, we survived the boy scouts this weekend. This was our last weekend this year for providing archery instruction to them. I hope they had fun with it.

The weather was almost perfect. There was a threat of thunderstorms coming through. One of my new crochet buddies in Sunnyside said that she'd try to hold them up there until later in the day for us. She did a great job! Only one came through and it only dumped rain, no lightning, for about 10 minutes or so. We headed for home about 4:00pm on Saturday.

Arrow Afghan

This one is a different pattern than the others I've made. It seemed to take forever to finish it, but looking back I guess it wasn't that bad.
