Swimming

The girls were behaving themselves.
Andy and Sadee were doing a little dance!
Even KC, my basset got some exercise!

Here's Sadee retrieving her ball.

Saturday Sky

Well, this is what it looked like Saturday evening where we were camped. It was a beautiful sunset!

Our Weekend

The boys and one of the dogs slept in the tent.

Andy was a little tired after we went swimming.

We went camping this past weekend. The weather was a little breezy, but not too hot. It's finally gotten under 90 here. Hubby and our younger son went down early in the day to get our campsite. Our older boy went with me. I decided to let him drive there since it was a freeway. He was doing just fine. The car kept making a clicking noise and I checked the temperature gauge and it was on High! I had him pull over and I called hubby. We were only about 10 minutes from the campground. Steam was rolling out of the engine and we found a hole in the radiator.

Hubby had to work from 4am to about 7am both Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday, he worked and then picked up my nephew to help him tow my car back home. My nephew has access to a towing dolly. They got it home and that's where she sits.

My poor hubby didn't get much sleep over the weekend. He was in bed early Sunday night since he still had to get up to be at work at 3:45am.

My 1st Poncho

Well, it's small but it's a start! This poncho will fit a 3-4 year old. It worked up so quickly, I was really surprised. From here, I can go to a bigger pattern now.

Stuffed Snake

Here's my Rainbow Snake that I finished up. He's 75 inches long and 13 inches around at the widest point.

This Morning

Yesterday, I got up with this awful pain in my stomach. My son called my mom and she took me to the hospital. They were thinking it was my gall bladder. They ran lots of tests, but found nothing. I have to see my doctor this week for a follow-up. They had given me a pain shot which made me groggy all day.

When I woke up this morning, one of my dogs was on the bed. KC is a bassethound/australian shepherd mix. She's built like the basset, but acts more like the shepherd. I have pic's below in here somewhere. Anyway, last summer I would wake up with her next to me every day. She put on too much weight over the winter to jump up there anymore. This is the first time since about December that she's done this. Apparently, she was worried about me and it also shows that she's lost some weight. I thought she had but we also thought it might have been losing her winter coat that made her look thinner. It really makes me feel good when one of the dogs does something like this. I just love them so much!

111 Degrees!!

It hit 111 this afternoon! It's hot here!
I think it's time to go to the river and no cooking tonight.

Snake Scarf

I came across this pattern in an old magazine of mine and just had to make one up. I think he turned out cute. It can be used as a scarf or filled for a toy or to put in front of a door to keep the cold out.

Yard Saling Again

I went yard saling with my mom and sister yesterday and today. We had a lot of fun. I found lots of full skeins of yarn in colors I use a lot. My sister found a lot of craft books. If a yard sale has books, I swear they call out to her. I'm the same way with yarn and crochet books though.

It's supposed to be 108 to 110 today! It's 1:00pm and 96 already. At least we're not having a drought. Last year was really bad.

Tonight we're going to my nephew's house for his youngest son's 9th birthday. They had 3 kids and I got to be there when Alek was born. I can't believe it's been 9 years already! My how time flies when your raising kids!

I just finished another boobie afghan which I hope to sell. I'm trying to get motivated to design my Christmas cards. It's just been tough deciding on what I want to do this year.

What a Sale!

I went into our local Craft Warehouse today and they are having a tent sale. Of course, I had to check it out. They had all this specialty yarn in there marked $1.00. Well, since it was a sale, this $1.00 was marked down another 70% to .30 per ball! What a buy! I got 57 balls for $17.00!

A Hat

Here's a hat I made up a while back. It was pictured on the front of a crochet magazine I have and I just couldn't resist making one. I think I'll make a few in some of the school colors around here.

Driver's Permit

I finally got Tyke signed up for driver's ed. and got his permit today. He thinks he's ready to drive now. I hadn't done it since I didn't feel he was ready. He just wasn't bugging me about it until recently. I figured if he really wanted to do it, it would have been a daily discussion and it wasn't. We got to the driver's licensing office and it was packed with people. It took us about 1/2 hour before they called our number. Tyke is not the most patient person and it was driving him nuts. He just has to get used to it, waiting is a way of life. He starts class on Monday morning. It's 2 hours a day, 3 days a week for 5 weeks. The place is close enought that I told him he could walk each way. It'll be less than 10 minutes, I'm sure.

I also went to the used book store and turned in some books to them. They only took the ones that I had bought from them originally. I couldn't believe it. They didn't even check them on the computer to see if they had any or not. The lady wasn't very pleasant either. Maybe she was having a bad day, but it'll be a while before I go back for anything there.

2 Gingerbread Men

This is the 2nd one I made. I think I like the lighter color better. The first one really perked up when I put the bow on him.

My Son's 13th Birthday

We had a big picnic for our son yesterday at a park on the river. It was a lot of fun!
The birthday boy!
My sister is so talented making cakes. Andy said he wanted a deer or an elk cake and this is what she came up with. It turned out really nice.
