I'm Really Not Missing

Well, I haven't posted in a while. I've been busy working on some crochet swap items and selling pillows and hats.

We are planning to go to another archery shoot on the 8th-10th. It's a traditional only one. It's being put on by Mt. Clemans Archers. They put on a fun shoot and are really nice folks. I hope to take some of my pillows and hats up there to sell also. I might even throw in some of the kid's stuff too.

I just have so many projects on my mind that I'd like to make up, and so little time to do them lately. For some reason the boys all seem to be glued to the house and are really not giving me any down time at all. The weather has been beautiful finally and everyone should be outside more. I've started taking the dogs for a walk in the evenings. We don't go for long, but it does feel good to go.

Andy started football practice yesterday. He's playing for Kamiakin his freshman year. It's going to be a long summer for him. He has spring practice until June 15th, then on June 16th he goes to Boise State for 5 days of football camp. On July 9th (I think) he'll start with summer conditioning and soon after will be starting actual football practice. The coach said they had a record number of boys turn out this time. They ran out of equipment and are awaiting some new stuff to come in.

School is out on June 8th. WooHoo! I can't wait.

Later Friends!

27 Years Ago Today......

the sky was dark and the ash started to fall around us!

It's the anniversary of Mount St. Helens blowing her top. I went and played Frisbee in the park with some friends while the ash was coming down. I had friends stuck all over the state. (Hey Karen, bet you don't miss Ritzville at all!) It was an interesting time for everyone in this part of the country.

What were you doing on May 18th, 1980? Send me a comment and tell me all about it. I'd love to hear your stories.

You can click on the words Mount St. Helens above and go to the website to read more about it.

The Balloons!

Andy and I went to the Walla Walla Balloon Stampede this morning. This meant that we had to get up about 4:00am to leave about 5:00am and arrive there by 6:00am. What an early day for us! Going to the balloons on Mother's Day weekend is a tradition for us. Usually, my sister goes too, but she made some other plans, like driving to Mexico with a our other 'sister'! This one is from Wild Horse Casino in Pendleton, Oregon.

Here is a looky inside as they are blowing it up.

The upper picture is what we saw when we were walking in.
Strawberries, anyone?

This one is called The Wild Goose. I just love the snakes and eyes in the bottom picture of the cattails.
I heard that there were 39 balloons total. That doesn't sound like many, but for our area it is. They are having a Night Glow tonight. We have never gotten to go to that. One of these years we'll back it though. Tonight a close friend of ours is playing music with the band she plays in. They are the Dawg-on Cool Katz .
If you live in the area, you should go see them sometime. They are good and have a fun time everywhere they play!

Balloon Time is here Again!

I just love watching hot air balloons! Andy and I are going to Walla Walla Saturday morning to watch them again. There is a big craft show too. Usually, my sister goes, but I think she's wimping out this year! She just doesn't want to get up at 4:00am to drive up there in time to see them.

J.R - Maybe we'll stop at Blimpie's on our way home and get something. I've gotta help support your retirement you know! haha

We'll the news of the day is that Dale Earnhardt Jr. is leaving DEI at the end of the season. I just didn't think he'd leave there, but I was wrong. It'll be interesting to see who he ends up with now. There are lots of rumors flying around about it.

I'll be posting pictures on Sunday of the balloons, so keep watching here.

A Parade

While we were in Wenatchee we watched a parade. Here are a few pictures.

This is Blitz, the Seattle Seahawks mascot!

Family Pictures

We had a large BBQ at one of Mike's sisters in Wenatchee. It was fun and the 1st time we've all been together in at least 9 years.

Woody Woodpecker came to visit

We kept hearing a noise outside, taptaptaptaptaptap, kind of like someone hammering on something. Well, we found out there was a woodpecker on a power pole across the street. I went out to get a picture of it (in the rain) and it flew away. I don't know if this is the same one that visited us last year or not. That one was in our tree though.

I'm not sure what it is about that power pole, but a while back there was a peacock up on it. He sat there and squawked for about 15 hours or more! He kept us awake most of the night. Very annoying! We live across the street from an elementary school in the city limits, so it's not like we live in the country where these types of birds might be more common. It's funny though!

Bingo Has Started Again

I'm a member of Crochetmania and every month on the 1st, we start playing bingo. It's a lot of fun. We pick out 25 words before the 1st and every day the caller posts 5 words from a list of 100. Whoever gets their 25 words picked 1st wins. The closest I've gotten was 1 left. Wish me luck!

This past weekend we did an archery instruction for a small church group. They seemed to have fun and were introduced to a fun sport. The weather were beautiful all weekend too! No rain, no wind, just pure sunshine.

Mike is working a lot of hours for a while. One of the plants that they have a contract with to service port-a-potties wants service every day for about a month. They have about 100 potties for a maintenance outage. So he is going into work at 4:00am 6 days a week and be putting in about 10 hours a day. He's already tired.

Mike does get this coming weekend off for a trip to Wenatchee. His brother and SIL are there visiting from North Dakota. We have not seen them in years. It's also Apple Blossom week. What this means is a lot of out of towners are there for the festivities. They have 2 parades, a carnival and various other events for about 10 days. Oh, and I almost forgot, a big craft show too! It should be fun.

The boys are all doing better now. Tyke is okay and Kyle's foot is still some really pretty colors and he's limping on it, but he can put weight on it now. He made it through school on Monday. It's time to get them up for school, so I'll sign off for now.
